Refunds and cancellations

Refund and Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how refunds, returns, cancellations, trials, and billing-related requests work when shoppers and retailers use Carro.

Last updated: 2026-07-02

1. Shopper purchases from retailers

Carro provides checkout and retail management technology for participating retailers. The retailer selling the product is responsible for its own merchandise, prices, taxes, order fulfillment, return windows, exchange rules, store-credit rules, and customer service unless Carro separately states otherwise in writing.

If you are a shopper and need a refund, return, exchange, receipt correction, or help with a disputed in-store purchase, contact the retailer where you made the purchase first. The retailer can review the transaction and, if appropriate, issue a refund through the Carro manager tools and Stripe payment workflow.

2. How payment refunds are processed

  • Refunds are processed back to the original payment method through Stripe when technically available.
  • Once a retailer issues a refund through Carro, Carro marks the transaction as refunded and releases eligible inventory back into the retailer's inventory records.
  • Bank, card-network, and payment-processor timing can vary. A refund may take several business days to appear on the shopper's statement after it is initiated.
  • Carro does not control whether a retailer approves a return or refund request, and Carro does not control card-network or bank posting times.

3. Non-refundable amounts and exceptions

A retailer may choose to make some items or charges final sale, non-returnable, non-refundable, or subject to restocking, shipping, service, or handling limits, as allowed by law and the retailer's posted policies. Examples may include used items, intimate goods, customized products, perishable goods, damaged products, gift cards, event or service charges, or items returned outside the retailer's return window.

Nothing in this policy limits non-waivable consumer rights, chargeback rights, payment-network rights, or rights that apply under local law.

4. Cancellations before payment

Shoppers can remove items from checkout before submitting payment. Items held in a cart may automatically release if checkout is not completed before the hold expires. If payment has not been submitted, no payment refund is needed.

5. Retailer subscriptions, trials, and platform billing

Carro's public site may reference trials, pricing, or future paid plans. Carro is still in active development, and paid platform subscriptions may not be active for every retailer or environment. If Carro offers a paid plan, free trial, or renewal subscription to a retailer, the plan-specific checkout or order page should disclose the price, billing frequency, trial length, renewal date, cancellation method, taxes or fees, and included features before purchase.

  • Retailers may cancel a paid Carro plan according to the cancellation method shown at signup or by contacting support.
  • Unless a plan-specific written offer says otherwise, cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically refund past subscription periods already used.
  • If a free trial converts to a paid plan, the trial terms should disclose when charges begin and how to cancel before conversion.
  • If Carro later supports prorated credits, refunds, or plan downgrades, the applicable billing screen or written agreement should describe those terms.

6. Chargebacks and disputes

Shoppers may have rights to dispute charges with their card issuer. Retailers are responsible for responding to chargebacks, disputes, and supporting documentation requests related to their products, customer interactions, returns, refunds, and store policies. Stripe and payment-network rules may also apply.

7. Contact

For Carro platform support, billing questions, or help identifying the correct retailer contact, email founder@carro-app.com. Include the transaction or receipt information available to you, the retailer name, purchase date, and a short description of the issue.
